New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has announced the appointment of senior diplomats IFS Jaideep Mazumdar and IFS officer Pavan Kapoor as Secretary (East) and Secretary (West) respectively.
Mazumdar, an officer of the 1989 batch, is currently serving as the Ambassador at the Embassy of India in Vienna. He will be succeeding IFS Saurabh Kumar in his new role.
Kapoor, an officer of the 1990 batch and the current Ambassador of India in Moscow, will be taking over as Secretary (West), succeeding IFS Sanjay Verma.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued the official order on February 3rd, confirming these appointments. Additionally, IFS Sanjay Verma has been appointed as a member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
