New Heads of NIA and NDRF, IPS Sadanand Vasant Date and IPS Piyush Anand becomes DG of NIA and NDRF Respectively

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs for appointment of Sadanand Vasant Date as the new Director General of National Investigation Agency (NIA). Date is an IPS officer of 1990 Batch of Maharashtra cadre. He will be replacing IPS Dinkar Gupta upon his superannuation on 31 March 2024.

The committee has also approved the appointment of Piyush Anand in the post of Director General of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). Piyush is an IPS officer of 1991 Batch of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He is presently serving as Special DG of CISF. He will be replacing  IPS Atul Karwal upon his superannuation on 31 March 2024.

IPS Rajeev Kumar has been also appointed as the new DG of Bureau of Police Research and Development.
