Mumbai: Manoj Sharma IPS has been elevated to the rank of Inspector General (IG) within the Maharashtra Police Force. He is moving up from Deputy Inspector General (DIG) rank. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the promotions for IPS officers from the 2003, 2004, and 2005 batches, including Sharma.
Manoj Sharma IPS took to X (formerly Twitter) and said, “The journey that started from ASP has reached today to become an IG by the order of the Government of India. Heartfelt gratitude to everyone for supporting me in this long journey.”
The recent critically acclaimed movie “12th Fail,” was inspired by the life of Manoj Sharma IPS, portraying his journey from a high school dropout to an IPS officer. It took Sharma four attempts to clear the UPSC examination, securing an All India Rank 121. He now holds a B.A. in Hindi and Hi
