Noida, May 10 (APAC Media): Gold and silver prices remained steady on Sunday across major Indian markets, tracking firm global bullion trends amid continued demand for safe-haven assets and mixed cues from international markets.
Retail prices of 24-carat gold hovered around Rs 96,500–96,600 per 10 grams in Delhi, while 22-carat gold was quoted near Rs 88,800 per 10 grams. Silver (999 purity) traded close to Rs 96,500 per kilogram in the national capital.
In Mumbai, bullion rates broadly mirrored Delhi levels, with only marginal variation in local retail quotes due to state taxes and making charges.

“Gold prices are likely to remain in a consolidation phase, while silver may trade with a positive bias in the coming week as traders turn their attention to developments around US-Iran peace talks aimed at de-escalating the conflict. Market sentiment is expected to react to any progress or setbacks in the negotiations,” said Pranav Mer, VP, EBG – Commodity & Currency Research, JM Financial Services Ltd.
Kolkata also reported similar price movements, with gold slightly tracking below northern and western market levels but remaining largely aligned with the national benchmark. Silver prices across all three metros remained range-bound with minimal divergence.
Traders said gold prices continue to be influenced by global macroeconomic factors, including expectations around US Federal Reserve policy, inflation data, and currency fluctuations. A relatively weaker US dollar in recent sessions has provided support to bullion prices, making gold more attractive for investors seeking a hedge against volatility.
Analysts noted that geopolitical uncertainties and sustained central bank purchases have also contributed to the firmness in gold prices over the past several months.
Meanwhile, silver has received additional support from robust industrial demand, especially from key sectors including electronics, solar energy, and manufacturing.
However, market participants pointed out that high domestic prices may continue to impact retail jewellery demand in India, especially in price-sensitive segments, though investment demand remains steady.
Experts expect bullion markets to remain volatile in the near term, with global economic indicators and interest rate decisions likely to dictate price direction.
Market watchers said volumes may pick up ahead of upcoming festive and wedding demand seasons in India in the coming weeks.
Analysts and investors are likely to closely monitor developments surrounding US President Donald Trump’s expected visit to China, along with the upcoming Senate vote on the nomination of Kevin Warsh as the new Federal Reserve chair.
