New Delhi: Lingraj Panda, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 2000 batch, has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy. His appointment was confirmed by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. With over nine years of service in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Panda has held pivotal roles in both state and central governments, including a brief tenure as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
Panda brings extensive administrative experience to his new role, having served in various capacities across different sectors during his career. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as Sub Divisional Magistrate and Sub-Collector with the Government of Odisha.
In his new capacity, Panda will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating initiatives related to school education and literacy programs across the country. His appointment underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and enhancing literacy levels nationwide.
