New Delhi: Manoj Kumar Nambiar has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the Microfinance Institutions Network (MFIN), while Vineet Chattree will serve as the Vice Chairperson.
Nambiar, who currently serves as the Managing Director of Arohan Financial Services, brings extensive experience in the microfinance sector. He succeeds Devesh Sachdev, CEO of Fusion Microfinance, in this role. Nambiar’s appointment comes at a crucial time as the sector continues to navigate post-pandemic recovery and growth challenges.
Chattree, the Director of Svatantra Microfin, takes on the Vice Chairperson role, adding his expertise in microfinance operations and strategic planning to the leadership team. The appointments aim to strengthen the governance and strategic direction of MFIN, an industry association representing the microfinance sector in India.
The new leadership team is expected to continue MFIN’s work in enhancing financial inclusion, ensuring client protection, and supporting the overall growth of the microfinance sector. They will also focus on fostering dialogue between stakeholders and addressing regulatory challenges faced by microfinance institutions.
