With the growing adoption of GenAI, what are the growing cyber threats for CISOs emanating out of GenAI?

As GenAI adoption continues to accelerate, CISOs are facing a new landscape of cyber threats that require innovative approaches to security. The integration of GenAI into various aspects of business operations has opened up new attack vectors and amplified existing risks, creating complex security environments.

One of the primary concerns for CISOs is the potential for adversarial AI attacks. Malicious actors are increasingly using AI to create more sophisticated phishing attempts, deepfakes, and social engineering tactics that can bypass traditional security measures. These AI-powered attacks can be difficult to detect and can potentially compromise sensitive data or systems at an unprecedented scale.

Another growing threat is the manipulation of AI models themselves. As organisations rely more heavily on AI for decision-making processes, there’s an increased risk of model poisoning or data manipulation that could lead to biased or compromised outputs. This could have far-reaching consequences, particularly in critical sectors like finance or healthcare.
