Bengaluru: Devarajan Nambakam and Sudarshan Ramakrishnan have been appointed as the co-heads of Investment Banking in India by Goldman Sachs. The objective of this action is to improve the firm’s investment banking strategy and to strengthen client relationships across a variety of industry sectors in the swiftly expanding Indian market.
Ramakrishnan and Nambakam will be directly reporting to Sonjoy Chatterjee, the chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs in India. This leadership has previously held the position of co-chief operating officer for Investment Banking in India. Sunil Khaitan has been appointed as the managing director and chief of Financing in India at Goldman Sachs, in addition to these appointments. Khaitan’s responsibilities will be to provide clients with innovative equity and debt solutions, thereby enhancing the firm’s capabilities in the region.
Ramakrishnan was previously employed as the co-chief operating officer of Investment Banking in India. Nambakam was previously the co-chief operating officer of Investment Banking in India. He has been responsible for client coverage in India across Technology, Media & Telecom, Consumer & Retail, Metals & Mining, and select significant conglomerates. He has provided services to consumers in the following sectors: Financial Sponsors, Natural Resources, Healthcare, Industrials, and Infrastructure.
