2026 Maruti Baleno Sigma Gets More Than Just The Basics

Summarize with:

New Delhi, September 12(APAC Media): The 2026 Maruti Baleno Sigma starts at Rs 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

As the entry-level variant of the facelifted Baleno, the Sigma brings the updated exterior design along with several important comfort and safety features. It is also positioned as an option for buyers who want the Baleno at its lowest price without moving to a higher trim.

Baleno Sigma Design And Interior

The Sigma variant gets the facelifted Baleno’s updated design, including the new three-slat grille, redesigned bumper, projector headlamps and blacked-out exterior elements. It rides on 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers and gets C-shaped LED taillamps at the rear.

The cabin follows a blue-and-grey dual-tone theme and features aluminium-finish inserts on the dashboard. It also gets fabric seats, an analogue instrument cluster with a small MID and adjustable headrests for all five occupants.

Baleno Sigma Features And Safety

The base variant gets all-four power windows, with the driver’s window offering auto up/down and anti-pinch functionality. Manual air conditioning and a shark-fin antenna are also part of the package.

While the Sigma does not get a factory-fitted infotainment system, the dashboard has provisions for one. Buyers can move to a higher variant if they want Maruti’s 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system.

The safety package is relatively comprehensive for the entry trim, with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold assist, three-point seat belts with reminders, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and rear parking sensors. TPMS is available on higher variants.

Baleno Sigma Engine And Price

The Sigma is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Buyers looking for the CNG version will need to opt for the Delta variant or above.

At Rs 6.10 lakh, the Baleno Sigma competes with the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Toyota Glanza, while the Tata Punch, Maruti Fronx and Maruti Swift also fall into a similar price bracket.

For buyers prioritising the entry price, the Sigma offers the facelifted Baleno’s new design, essential features and a substantial safety package. Those wanting features such as factory-fitted infotainment and TPMS can consider the higher variants.
