J&K, Apr 28 (APAC Media): The Jammu and Kashmir government has deployed 35 IAS and JKAS officers under the Vibrant Villages Programme-II (VVP-II) to assess and improve conditions in remote border villages along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC).
According to official instructions, the officers will undertake field visits during May and June 2026. Their primary responsibility will be to evaluate the implementation of government schemes, identify developmental gaps, and interact directly with local residents, civil society members, and security forces stationed in these sensitive regions.

As part of the exercise, officers will prepare detailed village action plans focusing on infrastructure development, improved service delivery, and socio-economic upliftment. These reports are expected to be submitted to the Planning Department by June 30, 2026, and will serve as a key input for future policy interventions in border areas.
District administrations, particularly deputy commissioners, have been directed to extend full logistical and administrative support to ensure smooth conduct of field visits. All concerned departments have also been instructed to coordinate effectively with the visiting officers.
The Vibrant Villages Programme II aims to bridge developmental gaps in remote border habitations, enhance connectivity, and promote sustainable economic opportunities. The initiative also seeks to strengthen national security through improved habitation and infrastructure in strategically important regions.
