New Delhi: India Grid Trust (IndiGrid) has partnered with the Norwegian Climate Investment Fund. The partnership is overseen by Norfund Techno Electric Engineering Company Limited (Techno) and British International Investment (BII). This collaboration aims to develop the greenfield Interstate Transmission System (ISTS) projects.
The three ISTS projects that IndiGrid is currently working on are:
- Ishanagar Power Transmission Limited (IPTL)
- Dhule Power Transmission Limited (DPTL)
- Kallam Transco Limited (KTCO)
The projects will receive investments from BII and Norfund as part of this partnership. Projects DPTL and IPTL will be co-developed by Techno. These renewable energy projects will have a 6 GW capacity in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. IndiGrid will purchase the entire stake upon project completion and operation. IndiGrid acquired a 300 MW AC solar asset in February 2024 for an enterprise valuation of about Rs 15. 5 billion. As a result, its generating capacity was raised to a whopping 1 GWp.
