Agartala: Tripura Institute for Transformation (TIFT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta to build platforms for knowledge exchange, capacity building, research initiatives, etc. Under the MoU, the institutions aim to jointly develop strategies for promoting industrialization and enhancing skill development in the state.
The institutions held detailed discussions to explore collaborative opportunities that align with NITI Aayog’s State Support Mission guidelines. The Chief Executive Officer of TIFT, Kiran Gitte, highlighted the importance of this strategic partnership. He remarked that the collaboration will drive interventions in crucial sectors and pave the way for sustainable economic development for the state’s workforce.
IIM Calcutta is the first institute to tie up with TIFT through its Centre for Development and Environment Policy. The institution will provide consultancy services to TIFT for achieving key policy interventions in the state. TIFT has also initiated discussions with institutions like NIPER, NIT, and ISI Kolkata to develop partnerships in areas like skill development, industrialization, monitoring and evaluation, and identification of emerging technologies.
