New Delhi, September 28 (APAC Media): Haryana-cadre IAS officer Vikas Gupta, currently serving as Commissioner of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), has been given additional charge as Commissioner of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) under the Department of School Education and Literacy.
Gupta is a 2001 batch IAS officer.
According to a Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order issued on Friday, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted ex-post facto approval for the additional charge.
Gupta will hold the additional charge for six months from July 23, 2026, or until a regular incumbent is appointed or further orders are issued, whichever is earlier.
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, under the Ministry of Education, is responsible for administering Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country.
