Dehradun, September 25 (APAC Media): The foundation stone laying ceremony for the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur’s new Dehradun campus was held on Wednesday, marking a significant step in the institute’s expansion in Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan performed the Bhoomi Pujan in the presence of IIM Kashipur Director Professor Neeraj Dwivedi and other officials.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bardhan said Uttarakhand’s youth have the talent and potential to succeed, adding that the new IIM campus would help strengthen their capabilities and create opportunities for professional growth.
He said the campus would expand IIM Kashipur’s presence in the state and contribute to the development of education and related sectors in Uttarakhand.
Five-Acre Campus to Be Developed in Phases
The new Dehradun campus will be developed on a five-acre plot in phases, in line with IIM Kashipur’s academic and institutional requirements.
To enable academic activities to begin at an early stage, the initial phase will include a prefabricated facility equipped with modern classrooms and office spaces. The project is being implemented with support from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD).
The initial facility is expected to support programmes including the Executive MBA, executive education and management development programmes. IIM Kashipur’s official website currently lists its Executive MBA as a weekend programme conducted at the institute’s Dehradun Campus.
IIM Kashipur’s Expanding Dehradun Presence
Established in 2011, IIM Kashipur is an institution of national importance with its main campus located in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. The institute operates a 200-acre residential campus at Kashipur and offers programmes including MBA, MBA Analytics, Executive MBA, Executive MBA Analytics, PhD and executive development programmes.
The Dehradun campus is expected to provide the institute with a larger platform for executive education and engagement with professionals, industry and other stakeholders in the state.
The foundation stone ceremony marks the next stage in IIM Kashipur’s efforts to expand its academic and executive education footprint in Uttarakhand.
