New Delhi: In order to felicitate the country’s para-athletes’ performance at the Paris Paralympics, the Indian Oil Corporation has decided to provide scholarships and medical insurance to the players. The Paris Paralympics recently concluded with India securing a total of 29 medals, including 7 Gold, 9 Silver, and 13 Bronze, marking its best-ever Paralympic performance.
Under the initiative, Indian Oil will disburse monthly scholarships, medical insurance, and sports kits to the athletes. Pankaj Jain, Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, announced the initiative as an effort by Indian Oil to enhance its support for para-athletes. In the past, IndianOil, in partnership with the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), has played a pivotal role in empowering Indian para-athletes by extending support to the para contingent since October 2023.
