Kolkata: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended the name of Gunjan Kumar Sinha for the post of Director (Personnel) of Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL). He is presently serving as the General Manager at Coal India Limited (CIL). He will take up the new role after receiving requisite clearances from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Sinha has been chosen for the post of Director from a list of 12 candidates who were interviewed by the PESB panel. As the Director (Personnel) of ECL, Sinha will be one of the members of the Board of Directors, reporting to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). His responsibilities will include coordinating and implementing personnel and industrial relations policies and overseeing management functions and administrative control of the organization.
Eastern Coalfields Limited is an India-based Coal producer established in 1975 after the nationalization of coal mines in India. It is among the fully-owned subsidiaries of Coal India Limited. ECL’s coal mines are operational in the states of Jharkhand and West Bengal. In addition, it has also inherited all the private sector coal mines of the Raniganj Coalfield.
