New Delhi: Manish Raj Gupta has been selected as the new Director (Technical, Projects & Raw Materials) of the Steel Authority of India (SAIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Steel. His appointment was confirmed by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) following a selection meeting held on September 19.
Gupta, currently serving as Executive Director (Works) at SAIL’s IISCO Steel Plant, was chosen from a pool of 12 candidates, 10 of whom were from SAIL, with others from Hindustan Copper Limited and MECON Limited.
In his new role, Gupta will be a key member of SAIL’s board, reporting to the Chairman. He will focus on the adoption of advanced technologies, efficient project management, and the formulation and implementation of safety guidelines within the company. His responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth and effective execution of projects and enhancing operational strategies at SAIL.
The appointment is seen as a move to strengthen SAIL’s technical and project management capabilities as the company continues to modernize its operations.
