Dehradun, September 1 (APAC Media): The HUDCO Regional Office, Dehradun, has signed an MoU with the Directorate of Urban Development, Government of Uttarakhand, to support urban infrastructure development under the Urban Challenge Fund (UCF) and UIWIN.
The partnership aims to strengthen the capacity of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to develop viable projects, mobilise financial resources and create sustainable urban infrastructure across the state.
Key Areas of Collaboration
Under the agreement, HUDCO and the Uttarakhand Urban Development Directorate will work together on:
- Preparing bankable Detailed Project Reports (DPRs)
- Building the capacity of Urban Local Bodies
- Training and institutional development
- Project financing under the Urban Challenge Fund
- Strengthening project formulation capabilities
- Mobilising financial resources for urban projects
- Developing financially viable and sustainable infrastructure projects
The MoU is expected to provide ULBs with technical, institutional and financial support to take urban infrastructure projects from planning to implementation.
A key focus will be on helping local bodies prepare quality and bankable DPRs that can support institutional financing and effective project execution. The collaboration is also expected to create a stronger pipeline of viable urban infrastructure projects in Uttarakhand.
The agreement combines project preparation, capacity building and financing support, with the objective of improving the ability of urban authorities to implement long-term infrastructure initiatives.
HUDCO, a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, was established in 1970 and provides financial assistance for housing and urban infrastructure projects across India.
