Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh (MP) Government has appointed Anurag Jain as the state’s Chief Secretary. He will replace Veera Rana who has recently retired from the post.
Jain is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer of the 1989 batch belonging to the MP cadre. He will be the 35th Chief Secretary of the state. Before getting assigned to the new role, he served as the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Secretary. Previously, he held the post of Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). He has also served as the Bhopal Collector and as Additional Chief Secretary in the Finance Department.
Jain holds a B.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. In addition, he has also done an MA in Public Administration from Maxwell Institute in the US.
