Jaipur: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has signed an MoU with the Rajasthan government to develop 25 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy projects. The agreement was signed at the Rising Rajasthan Investor Meet in New Delhi, with NGEL’s Director of Projects KS Sundaram, and Rajasthan’s Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Alok representing the two parties.
Rajasthan, which aims to reach 57.71 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, is currently India’s second-largest producer of renewable energy, with 24 GW of solar and 5 GW of wind power installed. The state’s unique geography, including its desert terrain and 320 sunny days a year, makes it a prime location for solar energy projects.
This partnership marks another step in Rajasthan’s renewable energy expansion, helping it meet ambitious energy goals. Both NGEL and the state government will now focus on ensuring these projects are rolled out effectively to contribute to India’s growing renewable energy sector.
