Gurugram: STL, a global provider of optical and digital solutions, has named Rahul Puri as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Optical Networking Business (ONB). The announcement was made today, with Puri stepping into his new role effective immediately.
Puri, who previously served as Vice President and General Manager for EMEIA and APAC at STL, brings over 24 years of experience spanning business development, operations, sales, and product management. His career includes stints at major technology and telecom companies such as Apple, Samsung, Reliance, and Airtel, where he worked across various global markets.
In his new role, Puri is expected to focus on expanding STL’s presence in key regions, including the US, Europe, the Middle East, and India. He has been credited with strengthening STL’s partnerships with major telecom providers and driving growth in emerging markets during his tenure with the company.
Addressing his appointment, Puri stated that his priorities will include driving sustainable growth, improving operational efficiencies, and maintaining strong relationships with global telecom partners. “Our emphasis will remain on delivering value to our customers and focusing on profitability while expanding our footprint in strategic markets,” he said.
STL Managing Director Ankit Agarwal highlighted Puri’s industry expertise and strategic approach, emphasizing his role in shaping the next phase of growth for the Optical Networking Business. Under Puri’s leadership, STL aims to navigate the evolving telecom landscape while strengthening its position in the global market.
This leadership transition comes as STL faces increasing demand for optical networking solutions amid global advancements in telecom infrastructure, including 5G. Puri’s appointment reflects STL’s strategic focus on leveraging experienced leadership to address these challenges and opportunities.
