Jaipur: In a strategic administrative reshuffle, the Rajasthan government has assigned additional responsibilities to two senior IAS officers to strengthen its initiatives in skill development and employment generation.
According to an official notification, IAS Dr. Samit Sharma (2004 batch) has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC) in Jaipur, alongside his current role as Secretary of the Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Gopalan Department. Dr. Sharma is renowned for his pioneering efforts in promoting affordable generic medicines in Rajasthan. Over his career, he has held significant roles, including District Collector of Chittorgarh, Sub-Divisional Officer in Jodhpur, CEO of Nagar Nigam in Kota, Secretary of the Urban Development Project, Kota, and Commissioner of the Labour Department.
IAS Pushpa Satyani (2013 batch) has also been given an additional charge as Commissioner for Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship while continuing as the Commissioner of the Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS). Satyani, a native of Bikaner, brings extensive administrative experience to her new role. In January 2024, she was appointed as the Collector of Churu. She has also served as Director of the Rajasthan State Agricultural Marketing Board, Joint Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office, and Commissioner of the Women Empowerment Department and Panchayati Raj in Jaipur. Her previous assignments include roles as Executive Director of the Rajasthan Urban Drinking Water Sewerage and Infrastructure Corporation Limited, Additional District Magistrate, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
These appointments underscore the Rajasthan government’s commitment to empowering the youth by enhancing skill development and employment opportunities.
