Mumbai: Kotak Mahindra Bank has announced the appointment of Vivek K Aggarwal as its Head of IT Governance, Risk & Compliance. In this capacity, he will be responsible for overseeing the bank’s IT governance strategies and regulatory compliance framework.
Vivek holds more than 25 years of experience in diverse areas such as IT governance, risk management, and compliance. Before joining Kotak Mahindra, he worked as the Senior Vice President at HDFC Bank. There he led key functions such as IT Regulatory Compliance, Audit Monitoring, and UAM Governance. He served in the post for five years and contributed significantly to strengthening the bank’s IT regulatory framework and third-party risk management. Prior to his stint at HDFC, Vivek played an instrumental role at IDFC First Bank. He served in multiple roles including Vice President and Head- Third Party Risk Management and Oversight.
He also developed comprehensive frameworks for vendor risk management, regulatory audits, and operational resilience. Apart from this, he has also been associated with Apollo International, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and American Express in leadership roles. In these organizations, he developed his expertise in operational risk management, internal controls, and global audit frameworks. Vivek started his professional journey with internal auditing, expanding his skill set in risk management and compliance.
In his new role at Kotak Mahindra, Vivek will focus on enhancing the bank’s IT governance framework, managing risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Additionally, he has been tasked to ensure the implementation of robust risk management practices across the bank’s IT operations.
