Pune: Tech Mahindra has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop a generative AI-powered Autonomous Networks Operations Platform (ANOP) aimed at streamlining telecom network operations for Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and enterprises. This multi-year strategic collaboration focuses on enabling telecom operators to shift from traditional on-premises infrastructure to a hybrid cloud model, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs.
The ANOP platform integrates AWS’s machine learning tools, including Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Bedrock, to support proactive and real-time network management. Tech Mahindra claims the platform can improve Network Operations Center (NOC) productivity by over 50%, reduce field visits by 15%, and shorten Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) by 30%. Additionally, it promises to accelerate network and service configuration processes by more than 30%.
A key element of the collaboration is the testing of Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) functions on AWS’s EKS Anywhere (EKS-A) platform, which aims to simplify the deployment of virtualized and cloud-native RAN networks. The companies are focusing on advancing the cloudification of telecom networks, particularly at the edge.
The partnership reflects an increasing reliance on AI and cloud technologies in the telecom sector to address challenges such as growing network complexities and rising operational expenditures. By leveraging generative AI, the platform will enable telecom operators to automate processes like NOC operations, field dispatch optimization, and self-healing mechanisms for network issues.
This collaboration is part of a broader trend where telecom operators are turning to AI-driven solutions to modernize networks and improve service delivery. Tech Mahindra has already begun implementing ANOP for a European telecom provider, suggesting that the platform has moved beyond development and is undergoing real-world validation.
Both companies aim to position this initiative as a step toward operational transformation in the telecom industry, addressing the growing need for efficient, automated, and cost-effective network management solutions.
