Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Home Department orchestrated the transfers of 19 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, resulting in significant changes in leadership across various districts and departments.
As per the official notification, IPS Rajkumar Pandian (1996 batch), presently the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for CID (Crime and Railways), has been transferred to the post of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Law and Order in Gandhinagar
Other notable transfers include:
IPS Shamsher Singh, the Law and Order DGP (1991 batch), has been replaced by Rajkumar Pandian, a 1996 batch IPS officer. Singh will continue to serve as the Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
IPS Ajay Kumar Choudhary (1999 batch), previously serving as Additional DGP, has been transferred and posted as the head of the Women’s Cell.
IPS Vidhi Choudhary (2009 batch) has been assigned the role of Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) in Ahmedabad and will also take on the additional role of Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration).
IPS Jaipalsinh Rathore has been appointed as the new Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Sector-2, Ahmedabad. Rathore. He belongs to the 2010 batch and takes over an area that has been witnessing law-and-order concerns, particularly in its eastern zones.
IPS Himkar Singh has been moved to the role of Superintendent of Police (SP) for Rajkot Rural.
IPS Bharatkumar Rathod (2018 batch) has taken over as the new DCP of Zone-2 in Ahmedabad, replacing IPS Shreepal Shesma, who is now awaiting a new posting.
IPS Sudhir Desai, who previously served as the SP of Intelligence for Gandhinagar, was transferred to take up a new role as the SP of Intelligence, replacing Rathod.
IPS Leena Patil, DCP of Zone-3 in Vadodara, has been promoted to the post of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime, Law, and Order), Vadodara City.
IPS Vikas Sunda (2018 batch) has been posted as the new SP for Kutch (West), a vacant position.
IPS Abhishek Gupta (2019 batch) has succeeded Leena Patil as DCP Zone-3 in Vadodara.
IPS Ravindra Patel (2016 batch) has been assigned the role of Executive Director of the Police Housing Corporation, replacing Vasantkumar Nayi, an SPS officer.
