The Gujarat government has announced a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring 18 senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 8 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. This adjustment is part of a broader strategy to streamline administrative processes and reinforce leadership across various departments.
The General Administration Department (GAD) has announced that T Natarajan, Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence Production at the Center, will now serve as Principal Secretary in the state finance department.
The revenue department has nominated Jayanti Ravi, a former secretary of the Auroville Foundation in Tamil Nadu, as an Additional Chief Secretary (ACS).
Rajeev Topno is the Chief Commissioner of State Tax in Ahmedabad. He was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s private secretary and then worked at the World Bank. In addition, he will continue to serve as Principal Secretary (Finance) till Natarajan takes up his new position.
Among the key changes, M.K. Das has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister.
– Pankaj Joshi has been transferred from Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister to Additional Chief Secretary (Ports and Transport).
– Sunaina Tomar will move from Additional Chief Secretary of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department to Additional Chief Secretary (Education).
– Anju Sharma is transitioning from Additional Chief Secretary of the Labour, Skill Development, and Employment Department to Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Cooperation.
– SJ Haider has been reassigned from Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries & Mines Department to Additional Chief Secretary (Energy & Petrochemicals).
– JP Gupta will now serve as Additional Chief Secretary (Tribal Development), having previously been Additional Chief Secretary (Finance).
– Mamta Verma has been moved from Principal Secretary (Energy and Petrochemicals) to Principal Secretary (Industries and Mines).
– Mukesh Kumar is transitioning from Principal Secretary (Higher and Technical Education) to Principal Secretary (Primary and Secondary Education).
– Vinod Rao will be Secretary in the Labour, Skill Development, and Employment Department, moving from Secretary (Primary and Secondary Education).
– Additionally, S Murali Krishna, Anupam Anand, Rajesh Manjhu, Rakesh Shankar, KK Nirala, and AM Sharma have also been reassigned to new positions as part of this reshuffle.
