Ranchi, October 3 (APAC Media): Jharkhand has prepared a 90-day action plan to develop and secure CBSE affiliation for 100 newly selected CM Schools of Excellence (CM-SOE), with academic sessions planned from the next academic year.
The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) organised a state-level orientation programme for the principals and headmasters of the new schools in Ranchi. The programme focused on CBSE affiliation, infrastructure development, student-centric learning and implementation of the Adarsh Vidyalaya Yojana.
CBSE Affiliation to Be Completed in Phases
JEPC officials outlined the standards, documentation and academic requirements needed for CBSE affiliation. School heads were directed to follow the three-month timeline and complete preparations in a phased manner.
The programme also stressed stronger school leadership, student-centric teaching methods and improvements in the overall learning environment.
Infrastructure, Smart Classes to Get Focus
The development plan includes upgrading classrooms, improving safety measures, strengthening boundary walls and meeting prescribed infrastructure standards for CM Schools of Excellence.
Technology-enabled education will also receive attention through smart classrooms, ICT laboratories, digital learning content and technology-based teaching methods.
Vocational Education to Be Expanded
The new schools are also expected to introduce specialised vocational laboratories and employment-oriented skill courses. The objective is to combine academic education with practical and skill-based learning.
Principals from existing CM Schools of Excellence in Giridih, Jamshedpur and Latehar also shared their experiences, including challenges related to school development, community participation and institutional transition.
The new schools are part of Jharkhand’s wider expansion of the CM School of Excellence model. The state currently has 80 operational CM Schools of Excellence, with the additional 100 taking the planned network to 180.
