Noida, Oct 1 (APAC Media): Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) reported its highest-ever monthly sales of 77,916 units in September 2026, registering a 10.8% year-on-year increase, the company said on Thursday.
The company’s total sales during the month comprised 57,166 units sold in the domestic market, marking a 10.9 per cent increase over the year-ago period. Exports stood at 20,750 units, registering a 10.4 per cent growth year-on-year.
According to the company, the September sales figure surpassed its previous record achieved in July 2026, making it the highest monthly sales since Hyundai Motor India began operations in the country.

Commenting on the performance, HMIL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Tarun Garg said the company was pleased to close September with record monthly sales and double-digit growth.
“We are delighted to close September 2026 with our highest-ever total monthly sales of 77,916 units (domestic + exports), registering a healthy double-digit growth of 10.8 per cent year-on-year. This number surpasses our previous record achieved in July 2026,” Garg said.

He said the growth was broad-based across the company’s domestic and export markets, reflecting the demand for Hyundai’s products in India as well as overseas markets.
“The well-rounded growth across domestic and export markets is a testament to the strong appeal of our product portfolio and our commitment to delivering world-class mobility solutions in India and across global markets,” Garg said.
Looking ahead, the automaker expects customer demand to remain strong during the upcoming festive season.

“Going ahead, we are expecting sustained customer enthusiasm during the festive season, also supported by the opening of bookings for the Hyundai BAYON, our upcoming all-new nameplate for India,” Garg said.
The company is set to open bookings for the Hyundai BAYON, which will mark the introduction of the new nameplate in the Indian market.
The September performance comes amid expectations of stronger automobile demand during the festive period, traditionally a key sales season for passenger vehicle manufacturers in India. Hyundai’s latest monthly numbers indicate continued momentum across its domestic sales and international business.
