Gandhinagar:Â The Government of Gujarat has announced significant administrative reshuffles, involving the transfer and appointment of two IAS officers from the 2014 batch to key positions. This decision, outlined in official orders, aims to enhance administrative efficiency in crucial state departments.
IAS Mayur K Mehta has been transferred and appointed as the Director of Civil Supplies and Ex-Officio Joint Secretary in the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar. He will also serve as the Managing Director of the Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd., Gandhinagar. This dual role underscores the importance of his responsibilities in ensuring the smooth functioning of civil supply chains and consumer affairs. Mehta was previously serving as the Member Secretary of the Gujarat Water Supply & Sewerage Board, Gandhinagar, where he contributed significantly to water supply management.
Meanwhile, IAS PJ Bhagdev has been appointed as the Member Secretary of the Gujarat Water Supply & Sewerage Board, Gandhinagar. Additionally, he will assume the role of Managing Director of Gujarat Water Infrastructure Ltd., Gandhinagar. Bhagdev’s prior role was as the Managing Director of the Gujarat Unreserved Educational & Economical Development Corporation, where he worked on initiatives for unreserved categories.
These strategic appointments reflect the government’s commitment to optimizing resource management and administrative leadership across departments.
