Chandigarh: In a recent administrative shuffle, the Haryana government has transferred three senior IPS officers to new roles, aiming to enhance operational efficiency in the state’s policing system.
The most notable appointment is of IPS officer Saurabh Singh (1998 batch), who has been designated as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Criminal Investigation Department (CID) (CID Chief). This key position plays a vital role in intelligence gathering and monitoring critical security aspects across the state. Saurabh Singh’s appointment underscores the government’s focus on strengthening its CID operations to address evolving challenges in law enforcement and public safety.
In addition to this, IPS Alok Mittal (1993 batch), presently serving as the ADGP for CID and the Additional Resident Commissioner at Haryana Bhavan in New Delhi, has been appointed as the ADGP of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). He will continue to hold his position as Additional Resident Commissioner at Haryana Bhavan, New Delhi.
Alok’s transfer relieves 1997 batch IPS officer Amitabh Singh Dhillon of his responsibilities as ADGP ACB.
The reshuffle aligns with the state’s broader strategy to improve the efficiency of its police force by placing experienced officers in critical roles. These transfers reflect Haryana’s ongoing efforts to bolster its internal security mechanisms and ensure effective governance in policing. With experienced officers taking charge, the state is poised to tackle emerging challenges more efficiently.
