New Delhi, Apr 20 (APAC Media): The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Ajit Kumar Panda for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Container Corporation of India Limited.
CONOR is a Schedule ‘A’ central public sector enterprise.
Panda currently serves as Director (Projects & Services) at CONCOR and brings extensive experience in logistics, infrastructure development, and supply chain operations. His appointment is expected to support the company’s ongoing expansion and modernisation efforts.
If approved, Panda will head India’s largest rail-based logistics company at a time when the country is placing strong emphasis on multimodal transport, improved supply chain efficiency, and the expansion of dedicated freight corridors. His leadership will be crucial in strengthening container logistics operations and enhancing overall efficiency.
As CMD, Panda will also play a key role in aligning CONCOR’s strategy with the government’s broader infrastructure growth agenda, particularly in boosting rail logistics and reducing transportation costs.
The recommendation by PESB will now be forwarded for further approvals in accordance with the government’s appointment procedures before the final appointment is made.
