Bengaluru, September 22 (APAC Media): Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to jointly develop sovereign data centre infrastructure.
The partnership aims to develop and position a fully indigenous, integrated and sovereign technology stack for high-stakes national infrastructure deployments, strengthening India’s domestic information and communication technology capabilities.Â
Focus on Indigenous Technology
Under the MoU, BEL and C-DAC will collaborate on indigenous design and development, system engineering, integration, testing and production for current and future programmes of strategic importance.
BEL will serve as the System Integrator, while C-DAC will act as the Technology Partner, providing indigenously developed products and solutions. The collaboration is expected to support the deployment of integrated technology solutions for sovereign data centre infrastructure.
MoU Signed in Bengaluru
The MoU was signed by Anoop Kumar Rai, Director (Marketing), BEL, and Magesh Ethirajan, Director General, C-DAC.
Senior officials from both organisations were also present at the signing. These included Hemavathy M, GM (Network & Cyber Security), BEL; Ruchi Pant, GM (Technology Planning), BEL; Commodore Sandeep Wadhwa, ED (Corporate & Government Business), C-DAC; and Prashant Dinde, Associate Director, C-DAC Pune.
The partnership brings together BEL’s system integration capabilities with C-DAC’s indigenous technology expertise. It is aimed at advancing domestic ICT solutions for strategically important infrastructure and supporting India’s efforts towards greater technological self-reliance.Â
