Noida, Apr 20 (APAC Media): Shares of ICICI Bank rose 3% in morning trade on Monday after the lender reported a 9.28% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit for the March quarter, supported by lower provisioning and steady growth in core income.
The stock advanced 1.11% to Rs 1,361.10 on the BSE and 1.17% to Rs 1,362.10 on the NSE during intraday trade, reflecting positive investor sentiment following the earnings announcement.
For Q4, ICICI Bank reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 14,755 crore, up 9.28%, while standalone profit rose 8.5% to Rs 13,702 crore compared with Rs 12,630 crore in the year-ago period.

Net interest income grew 8.4% year-on-year to Rs 22,979 crore, supported by 15% asset growth and a slight expansion in net interest margin to 4.32%.
“ICICI Bank delivered a strong Q4FY26 performance with PAT growth of 8% year-on-year and 21% quarter-on-quarter, driven by lower provisions and better-than-expected net interest income.” According to the JM Financial report.
Loan growth accelerated to 16% year-on-year, supported by strong momentum in business banking, rural lending and mortgages, while deposits also posted double-digit growth, reinforcing the bank’s liability franchise.
JM Financial added that asset quality remained best-in-class with declining slippages and credit costs at cyclical lows, supporting strong return ratios and earnings visibility.
For FY26, the bank reported a 6.2% rise in post-tax profit to Rs 50,147 crore, reflecting steady credit demand and stable margins across segments.
Analysts noted that the rally reflects investor confidence in ICICI Bank’s consistent earnings, improving asset quality and strong retail and business banking growth.
The lender’s net interest margin stood at 4.32%, supported by loan growth of around 15% and improved operating efficiency across segments.
Market participants expect near-term consolidation after the sharp gains, though the long-term outlook remains positive on strong fundamentals.
ICICI Bank’s asset quality remained stable with lower slippages and improved recoveries, keeping credit costs well below historical averages and supporting profitability.
Deposit growth also remained healthy, aided by strong retail traction and steady current account savings account accretion across branches.
The bank continued to see robust demand in retail lending, particularly in mortgages and business banking, supporting overall loan expansion.
JM Financial maintained a BUY rating on the stock with a revised target price of Rs 1,630, citing strong earnings visibility.
It added that ICICI Bank is expected to deliver steady return ratios supported by disciplined growth and resilient margins over the medium term.
