New Delhi: Amit Ganorkar has been named the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TATA AIG General Insurance Company Limited. The appointment comes as the company looks to strengthen its position in the competitive general insurance market and improve its digital capabilities.
Ganorkar is returning to TATA AIG, where he previously worked as Chief Operating Officer. In his earlier role, he played an important part in improving operations and introducing new technologies to the company.
Ganorkar brings more than two decades of experience in the insurance industry. He has worked in key areas such as sales, marketing, product development, operations, and technology. Before this role, he was the Managing Director at Royal Sundaram General Insurance, where he helped the company grow its business.
Entrepreneurial Background
Ganorkar also co-founded ZipSure General Insurance, a digital insurance startup, which gave him valuable experience in the rapidly growing digital insurance space. He has also worked with Reliance General Insurance, where he gained expertise in marketing and distribution.
