New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways has announced the appointment of Vijoy Kumar Singh, IRTS, as the new Director (International Marketing & Operations) at the Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR). Singh, who previously served as Chief Commercial Manager/Passenger Marketing (CCM/PM) of Central Railway, assumes the role with immediate effect.
His appointment, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet in August 2024, is on an absorption basis. As per official filings, he will receive a salary in the scale of Rs. 1,80,000 to Rs. 3,40,000 (IDA) and will serve until his retirement on December 31, 2029.
CONCOR, a Navratna public sector enterprise, was established in 1988 and began operations in 1989. Headquartered in New Delhi, the company specializes in handling and transporting containers, managing ports, air cargo complexes, and cold-chain logistics. It also provides multimodal logistics support and operates an extensive network of container freight stations (CFSs) and inland container depots (ICDs). Additionally, CONCOR runs regular container trains connecting ports with inland terminals.
With a vast network of container terminals at prime locations across the country and strategic partnerships nationwide, CONCOR plays a crucial role in India’s logistics infrastructure. Its mission includes achieving operational excellence, maintaining high business ethics, and contributing to social value while ensuring transparency and integrity.
Singh’s leadership is expected to strengthen CONCOR’s international marketing strategies and operational efficiencies, reinforcing India’s position in global logistics and trade facilitation.
