Bengaluru: HCLTech and ChargePoint have partnered to advance electric vehicle (EV) charging technologies. As part of this collaboration, HCLTech has set up an advanced R&D centre in Bengaluru, India, which will focus on software development for ChargePoint’s EV charging solutions.
The centre, inaugurated by leaders from both companies, will serve as a key hub for ChargePoint’s software engineering efforts in India. HCLTech aims to support ChargePoint by leveraging its engineering expertise and a product-driven approach to develop scalable and customizable charging solutions.
ChargePoint Eyes India for Software Expansion
Rick Wilmer, CEO of ChargePoint, highlighted India’s strategic importance in the company’s global operations. “India has long been vital to our success, and this is a critical region for our software development,” Wilmer said at the launch event. He also mentioned that ChargePoint aims to attract top technology talent for the new facility.
HCLTech to Support ChargePoint’s Innovation Strategy
Ajay Bahl, Chief Growth Officer at HCLTech, stated that the company’s engineering capabilities will contribute to ChargePoint’s innovation roadmap. “We are pleased to be a part of ChargePoint’s EV innovation journey and accelerate the transition toward sustainable mobility solutions,” Bahl said.
