Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Secretary Vivek Joshi has been given the additional charge of Chief Resident Commissioner, Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi. He is a 1989 batch IAS officer belonging to the Haryana cadre. This decision was formalized through an official order issued by the Personnel Department.
Currently, Joshi oversees several key departments, including General Administration, Human Resources, Personnel & Training, Parliamentary Affairs, and Vigilance. He also serves as the Secretary in charge of Plan Coordination. His new responsibility as Chief Resident Commissioner further strengthens his administrative role in the state.
Joshi was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Haryana after the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet cleared his selection in November last year. Before assuming this role, he served as Secretary of the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), gaining significant experience in governance and policymaking.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, Joshi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He further pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi. He also holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in International Economics from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
With his extensive administrative experience and academic expertise, Joshi’s leadership is expected to further streamline governance and enhance Haryana’s representation at the national level through his role at Haryana Bhawan.
