Imphal: The Manipur government has transferred several senior police, IAS and forest officers as administrative changes continue under President’s Rule. The reshuffle affected nine police officers and five IAS and Indian Forest Service officers.
Key Police Transfers
Shivanand Surve (IPS), SP of Senapati district, has been moved to Thoubal district.
Th Vikramjit Singh (IPS, 2004 batch), SP of Kakching, has been reassigned as Commandant of the 10th IRB.
Dharmendra Kumar (IPS), SDPO of Lamlai, has been promoted to SP of Senapati district.
Priyadarshini Laishram (MPS), SP (Immigration), has been appointed as SP of Kakching.
S Ibomcha (IPS), in charge of SP Thoubal, has been transferred as Commanding Officer of the 6th IRB and given additional charge of the Commando Unit SP.
Mohammed Zaib Zakir (IPS), previously senior SO to the Director General of Police, has taken over as SP of Jiribam district.
Key IAS & Forest Service Transfers
Anurag Bajpai (IFS, 1994 batch), Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Additional Chief Secretary (Textiles, Commerce, and Industries), now holds additional charge of Tribal Affairs and Hills.
Naorem Praveen (IAS, 2012 batch), Director of the Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency, has been assigned additional duties as Secretary of Education – Schools.
Administrative Changes Under President’s Rule
The transfers come amid the President’s Rule in Manipur, imposed on 13 February 2025, after former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh resigned. With the Manipur Assembly under suspended animation, the Central Government is directly overseeing governance in the state. These changes indicate continued efforts to manage administrative affairs during this period of political transition.
