Kolkata: Coal India Ltd. has implemented a new SAP ERP system to establish a foundational data later providing comprehensive analysis and insights through reports and dashboards.
The SAP ERP was implemented across Coal India’s corporate office as well as in Mahanadi Coalfields, Western Coalfields and North Eastern Coalfields. A state-of-the-art Hospital Management System was also implemented in 21 hospitals across Coal India subsidiaries.
The ERP allows Coal India to monitor real-time production, distribution and quality of coal supplied to customers, as well as stock positions. This has enhanced the decision-making capabilities of the Coal India leadership.
The HMS, on the other hand, has facilitated an integrated, efficient and responsive hospital management process. It covers patient registration, billing and discharge and manages medicine and consumable inventories.
Tech Mahindra, as the System Integrator, played a pivotal role in Coal India’s digital transformation, driving the implementation of next-generation technologies.
Coal India now targets a coal output of one billion tonnes and expands into solar, thermal power, coal gasification and critical minerals. The Tech Mahindra-driven transformation will enhance Coal India’s ability to gather extensive business intelligence.
