Raipur: Harish Duhan has officially taken charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) recommended his name for the role back in December 2024.
Prior to this appointment, Duhan served as Director Technical (Operations) at Central Coalfields Limited.
He brings over 34 years of experience spanning the mining sector. His expertise includes implementing First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects, driving digitization initiatives, and overseeing the development of solar projects in Coal India Limited.Â
Duhan joined Coal India Limited in 1989 from Western Coalfields and has since worked in several key positions, including Area General Manager of the Nigahi Project and General Manager of Corporate Project Planning at Northern Coalfields Limited.
Duhan is an alumnus of Nagpur University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering. In addition, he holds a First Class Mine Manager Certificate and a postgraduate diploma in Management.
With his extensive industry expertise, Duhan is expected to lead SECL to new heights in coal production, technological innovation, and sustainable development.
