Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the country’s first Artificial Intelligence Aided Data Centre Park in Nava Raipur to boost India’s digital sector.
With a funding commitment of Rs 1,000 crore over the next two years, this AI data centre spans 13.5 acres and includes a 2.7-hectare Special Economic Zone (SEZ) dedicated solely to AI services that will be operated by RackBank Datacenters Private Limited.
The project marks a significant milestone in Chhattisgarh’s journey toward digital transformation and technological self-reliance.
A Digital Backbone for Growth and Empowerment
The AI Data Centre Park is designed to serve as the digital foundation for the state’s economic and technological advancement. Officials emphasised that the centre will not function merely as a data storage facility but will act as a catalyst for a new era of growth.
The initiative is poised to create life-changing opportunities for the tribal communities, youth, and farmers of Chhattisgarh by delivering AI-powered solutions in sectors like agriculture and education.
Boosting Rural Development and Socio-Economic Progress
The government plans to use the facility to deliver tailored AI technologies that will enhance productivity and learning in rural regions. In agriculture, AI-based tools are expected to support precision farming and crop management, offering direct benefits to farmers. In education, AI integration will support smarter learning methods, better school management, and infrastructure upgrades through collaborations with educational firms.
An Innovation Hub for Tech Companies
The inclusion of a dedicated SEZ for AI services is expected to attract both domestic and international technology firms, transforming Nava Raipur into a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. This zone will offer a favourable business environment for tech start-ups and established companies, encouraging the development of new ideas and cutting-edge solutions.
The AI park aligns with the broader state policy of reducing the digital divide and generating employment. Through the establishment of initiatives like Data AI Clubs in schools and a focus on digital education, Chhattisgarh aims to build a knowledge-driven economy. The government’s commitment is clear—by enhancing public resource management and expanding economic activity, AI technologies will serve as a core tool for inclusive growth.
