Mumbai: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has transferred eight senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including PS Sharada Raut. This move aims to strengthen the state’s law enforcement and governance infrastructure.
One of the most notable changes is the appointment of 2005-batch senior IPS Sharada Raut as the Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the newly established Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF).Â
Raut, who was previously serving as Joint Commissioner in the State Intelligence Department (SID), returns to Maharashtra following a central deputation with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Her appointment underscores the state’s heightened focus on combating drug trafficking and substance abuse.
The complete list of key IPS transfers is as follows:
- IPS Ravindra Shisve (2002 batch) – Appointed Joint Commissioner, State Intelligence Department (SID); previously Commissioner of Railway Police, Mumbai. He replaces IPS Sharada Raut.
- IPS Supriya Patil Yadav (2004 batch) – Appointed Special IGP (Establishment) at Maharashtra Police Headquarters; recently returned from central deputation.
- IPS Navinchandra Reddy – Transferred from Commissioner of Police, Amravati City to Joint Commissioner of Police, Nagpur. Replacement in Amravati is awaited.
- IPS Rajiv Jain – Appointed Special IGP, Maritime (Coastal) Security; previously Special IGP, SRPF.
- IPS Nisar Tamboli – Transferred from Joint Commissioner of Police, Nagpur to Special IGP, State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Nagpur; replaces IPS Rajiv Jain.
- IPS Abhishek Trimukhe – Transferred from Additional Commissioner of Police (North Region) to Special IGP (Administration) at the state police headquarters; replaces Arti Singh.
- IPS Dr. Arti Singh (2006 batch) – Transferred from Special IGP (Administration); new posting yet to be announced.
These strategic postings aim to place experienced officers in pivotal roles, ensuring a stronger, more agile police force equipped to tackle evolving challenges across Maharashtra.
