Jaipur: Rajasthan’s Industries and Commerce Department has launched a new digital system, SARAL, aimed at centralising the operations of the Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation (RAJSICO).
The move by the Rajasthan government is part of the state government’s effort to improve oversight and operational efficiency in its export, cargo and retail sectors, particularly for handicrafts.
Launched by Industries Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore at the state secretariat, SARAL is designed to consolidate RAJSICO’s core operations, including inventory management, billing, warehousing and air cargo logistics.
The platform also supports functionalities like inbound cargo registration, wallet-based digital Pre-Deposit Accounts (PDA), product tracking through Master Airway Bill (MAWB) numbers and real-time exporter-importer registration.
Officials say the software will replace multiple manual and semi-digital systems currently used by RAJSICO, which handles cargo operations valued at approximately Rs 9,000 crore annually.
Support for Handicraft Retail through Rajasthali
SARAL will also digitise Rajasthali RAJSICO’s retail brand for Rajasthani handicrafts by introducing product barcoding, digital billing, GST tracking, and inventory monitoring. The integration aims to create consistency in backend retail operations and reduce product losses due to tracking errors or mismanagement.
By automating retail processes, SARAL is expected to help streamline procurement and inventory oversight while improving revenue management. It is also being positioned as a tool to better coordinate with vendors and manage supply timelines.
Expansion of Franchise Network
In addition to the software launch, RAJSICO Chairperson Dr Arushi Ajay Malik announced a planned expansion of Rajasthali outlets through a franchise model. The corporation will open new centres in domestic tourist destinations such as Jaipur, Pushkar and Mount Abu, and international cities including London, Singapore, and Dubai.
Selected airports and upscale hotels will also host Rajasthali outlets to reach a wider audience, especially tourists. According to Malik, franchisees will benefit from SARAL’s integration features, allowing for real-time stock updates and unified billing.
