Kolkata: The West Bengal Education Department will launch the centralised admission portal for enrolment in higher educational institutions for undergraduate courses within a week.
The portal is a single-window online platform for admission to 16 universities and 461 government and government-aided affiliated colleges.
According to Bratya Basu, the state education minister, the portal launch was delayed by a few days due to technical glitches.
It will offer students the opportunity to choose from hundreds of courses. The higher secondary results were published on 7 May, so the college admission procedure will start within 40 days.
The guidelines regarding reservation under the OBC quota for candidates will be done in accordance with the Calcutta High Court order of 2024.
The matter is currently pending as sub judice in the Supreme Court.
