New Delhi: One of India’s top digital mapping and geospatial technology companies, Mappls MapmyIndia, and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve commuter convenience and urban mobility throughout the National Capital Region (NCR).
Through the partnership, millions of commuters will be able to travel the metro more quickly, intelligently and easily by integrating DMRC’s Application Programming Interface (API) with the Mappls App.
Over 35 million Mappls users will be able to access real-time metro information, including nearby stations, routes, fares, line changes, train frequencies and travel times, directly through the Mappls app, thanks to the agreement that integrates DMRC’s metro data into the Mappls platform.
Commenting on the collaboration, Dr Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, said: “Delhi Metro is committed to enhancing commuter convenience through innovation and technology. The integration of DMRC’s metro data with the Mappls app will make travel across NCR smarter and seamless — enabling commuters to plan better, navigate easily and save time. This collaboration marks another step toward building a smarter, safer and more connected public transport ecosystem.”

By enabling users to report civic issues like traffic, accidents, or waterlogging in real time, Mappls’ Traffic and Public Engagement Platform will also be used to increase citizen participation and transparency. In order to ensure prompt response and proactive urban management, the feedback will be immediately shared with the appropriate authorities.
The project is anticipated to greatly enhance public safety, urban mobility and service effectiveness throughout Delhi-NCR, establishing this partnership as a crucial step towards an India that is commuter-friendly and digitally connected.
