Ghaziabad: IAS Dr. Nand Kishore Kalal, a 2018-batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has officially assumed charge as the Vice Chairman of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA).Â
He replaces IAS Atul Vats, who has been appointed as the District Magistrate of Hathras.
A doctor by training, Dr. Kalal is known for his administrative efficiency and transparent work style. Before this posting, he served as the Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Rampur, where he earned recognition for quick decision-making and his focus on public welfare.
Dr. Kalal emphasized that major development projects, including the ongoing Harnandipuram Township, will be among his top priorities. He also outlined his commitment to maintaining transparency within the GDA and creating an administrative environment that supports sustainable growth for Ghaziabad.
In his previous roles, Dr. Kalal developed a strong reputation for ensuring that projects were implemented effectively and with clear accountability. His leadership is expected to bring renewed momentum to several key infrastructure initiatives in the city.
As the new head of the GDA, Dr. Kalal will play a vital role in accelerating urban development and overseeing the implementation of the Master Plan 2031. His experience and focus on efficiency are expected to help Ghaziabad meet the challenges of rapid urban expansion.
