Chandigarh: The Punjab government has assigned IAS Kumar Amit (2010 batch) with the additional charge as the Administrative Secretary of the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department.
The move reflects the government’s confidence in his administrative experience and leadership.
Kumar will continue to serve in his current role as the Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Managing Director of MARKFED.Â
Kumar has also served as the Managing Director of PSIEC. Previously, he was the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Patiala from March 2017 to October 2021. During his tenure, he handled key administrative and development-related assignments.
The additional charge is expected to ensure continuity and efficiency in the tourism department’s operations while strengthening coordination across departments.
