New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued notifications related to the repatriation and extension of central deputation tenures of senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers serving in key Union government roles. Accordingly, IAS Subodh Yadav (1999 batch) has been repatriated to his parent cadre, Karnataka.Â
Yadav was serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. The repatriation has been approved on personal grounds. With this decision, his central deputation tenure stands curtailed, and he will report back to the Karnataka government for further posting.
In another decision, the central deputation tenure of IAS Aishvarya Singh (2008 batch) has been extended by one year. She is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation. The extension will take effect beyond February 5, 2026.
The ACC has also approved a short-term extension for IAS M. Ramachandrudu (2009 batch). His central deputation tenure has been extended by three months. He is currently serving as the Director of Census Operations and the Director of Citizen Registration for Bihar under the Ministry of Home Affairs. His tenure was earlier scheduled to end on December 31, 2025. The extension aims to ensure continuity in census-related work and citizen registration activities during a critical period.
These decisions reflect the government’s effort to balance administrative continuity with cadre requirements while addressing personal and operational needs within key ministries and departments.
