Mumbai: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has appointed Sandeep S. Paranjpe as Director (Technical/Project & Planning.
Paranjpe is a seasoned mining professional with over three decades of experience in the coal mining sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Shri Ramdeobaba Kamla Nehru Engineering College, Nagpur University, completed in 1991.
Paranjpe’s professional journey includes 16 years of underground mining experience at Pathakheda and Saoner. Over the years, he has developed strong expertise in key areas such as mine management, land acquisition, project execution, production, mine planning, coal quality control, and mine closure. His wide exposure has helped him contribute to both operational efficiency and long-term planning.
Before joining WCL, Paranjpe served as Regional General Manager of the Sohagpur Area in South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). He later worked as Officer on Special Duty to the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of SECL, where he played an important role in supporting strategic and operational initiatives.
