Kolkata: The Kolkata city has approximately 2.2 lakh Yuva Sathi applications.
According to KMC, there have been 73,000 online applications and 1.51 lakh physical applications for Yuva Sathi till date.
From Saturday onwards, the government has started crediting the amount of Rs 1500 to the applicants.
Once some applicants have received the funds, Yuva Sathi has become acknowledged as an active scheme and cannot be halted even after the election dates are announced.
KMC officials have uploaded the applicant details to make the grants available immediately.
Under the scheme, individuals aged 21-40 who have completed their Madhyamik examinations are receiving a monthly support of Rs 1500 for 5 years or until they secure employment.
Even in cases where the money has been credited, if any applicant is found to have claimed the assistance wrongfully, the assistance will be terminated and they will be penalised.
